At the University of Southern Denmark, we have different ideas on why and how we should use the SDG’s as inspirational framework for transforming the university. The importance of being a first mover is key and so is the importance of maintaining our credibility – and for the researchers to uphold their academic freedom. Last but not least. The SDG’s follow the MDG’s and both sets of goals address the importance of ending poverty, reduce violence and conflicts and start contributing to a more sustainable growth strategy in the developing countries. The key question is: What does a university in Denmark have to offer that makes a real and tangible difference in developing countries?
